PROBATION INTER-STATE & INTRA-STATE COMPACT (IC)

Inter-State Compact

Inter-State Compact - If the Offender is on probation and wishes to move to another state during their period of probation or the Offender is already a resident of another state when he or she is placed on probation. They can apply for a transfer through Interstate Compact. This type of transfer requires the assigned Probation Officer's permission and requires some basic criteria to be met prior to the request being granted. Interstate Compact will evaluate and process the transfer of adult probationers from one state to another while maintaining continuous supervision.
Successful transfer requires both states to agree to the transfer. In other words, you first have to get the sending state to agree to transfer you out of the state. Second, the receiving state (where you are hoping to move) must accept the transfer.

Intra-State Compact

Intra-State Compact - This can occur if the Offender is on probation in one county and wishes to move to another county WITHIN the State of Ohio during the period of their probation, or the Offender is already a resident of another county WITHIN the State of Ohio when he or she is placed on probation. This requires the assigned Probation Officer's permission and the accepting county’s permission after meeting some basic criteria.

You will need your photo ID to show the receptionist when you check-in.
