About Judge Silverstein

Judge Silverstein was elected to the Hamilton County Municipal Court bench on November 7, 2023.  Judge Silverstein graduated from DePaul College of Law in 2013. During law school she clerked at the Cook County Public Defender's Office and was a student in the Center for Justice In Capital Cases. After graduation, she joined the public defender's office in West Palm Beach, Florida. In West Palm, she worked in the misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony divisions. She tried over 40 jury trials. In 2017, Judge Silverstein moved to Cincinnati to be closer to family. Before joining the public defender's office, she worked at Legal Aid for Southwest Ohio in the Child Law, Family Law, and Housing Law practice divisions. In her current role, Judge Silverstein is an adjunct professor at University of Cincinnati College of Law where she supervises the Indigent Defense Clinic. Judge Silverstein runs our internship program and recruits and trains new lawyers. Judge Silverstein is a board member of the Homeless Coalition, a bail reform advocate, and belongs to The National Lawyers Guild. Before attending law school, Judge Silverstein was a journalism and political science student at Indiana University Bloomington.
