The Department of Pretrial and Community Transition Services has provided pretrial release investigation and supervision services to the Hamilton County Municipal and Common Pleas Courts since 1973. The agency’s mission is to assist the administration of justice and to promote community safety by working collaboratively, ensuring fairness and equality in the pretrial process, and empowering defendants with the resources necessary to successfully comply with court requirements. Utilizing the Ohio Risk Assessment System per Ohio Revised Code 5120.114, the agency provides accurate and timely information to assist the court in making informed decisions regarding bail in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 2937.011 and Administrative Rule 9.01. The agency is instrumental in the implementation of a wide array of court and jail diversion problem solving initiatives that responsibly transition defendants and offenders back to the community pre and post adjudication. The Department of Pretrial and Community Transition Services operates seven days per week, twenty-four hours per day.
