Common Pleas Magistrates<\/h2>\n

Chief Magistrates Anita P. Berding and Thomas O. Beridon are the primary magistrates serving the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, pursuant to Local Rule 23<\/a>. Cases are referred by Local Rule, General Order of Reference (M9600400), Individual Order of Reference, and Special Order of Reference.<\/p>\n

Those matters referred by General Order of Reference include foreclosure cases, administrative appeals with the exception of those appeals assigned to the Hon. Robert P. Ruehlman, civil forfeiture cases, certificates for qualification of employment, and requests for car titles. Cases referred to the magistrates by general order of reference are heard by a magistrate until judgment.<\/p>\n

Under Civ R. 53(C)(1)(b) and Civ. R 53(2), with unanimous written consent of the parties, a magistrate may preside over any civil jury trial.<\/p>\n

All hearings for default, attachments\/replevin, executions and evictions, are referred by Local Rule 23<\/a> and are scheduled at dates and times designated by the Assignment Commissioner, (513) 946-5939<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The magistrates handle arraignment and extraditions pursuant to Local Rule 7<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The magistrates preside over judgment debtor exams and garnishment hearings in accordance with Local Rule 19.<\/p>\n

Pursuant to Local Rule 37, the magistrate presides over all hearings required under R.C. \u00a72903.214<\/a>, Civil Stalking Protection Orders.<\/p>\n
