Mediation sessions up to 2 hours will be conducted via Zoom. Any interested parties should contact the Mediation office at <strong>(513)-946-5470<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>For those who would like to apply to be a volunteer mediator, please see the attached <a href=\"https:\/\/hamiltoncountycourts.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Volunteer-Mediator-Application.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Volunteer Mediator Application<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Mediation<\/h2>\n<p>Mediation is an informal, non-judicial process designed to allow the parties to reach a mutually acceptable settlement of their civil case with the assistance of a trained mediator.<\/p>\n<h3>Referrals of Cases to Mediation<\/h3>\n<p>Cases are referred to Mediation by the Court. The parties or counsel may request that their cases be taken through the mediation process. Cruze<\/a>\u00a0via email at <a href=\"mailto:jcruze@cms.hamilton-co.org\">jcruze@cms.hamilton-co.org<\/a> or telephone at 513-946-5470<\/p>\n<h2>Arbitration<\/h2>\n<p>Arbitration is one of several types of Alternative Dispute Resolution Programs offered within Hamilton County Common Pleas Court for civil cases. <a href=\"https:\/\/hamiltoncountycourts.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/RULE-24.pdf\">Local Rule 24<\/a> of the Rules of Local Practice defines the manner in which arbitrations are conducted in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas. The arbitration hearing is similar to a trial and is conducted in a courtroom type setting. The average hearings is approximately 3 \u00bd hours. The hearing is conducted, heard, and decided by a panel of three attorneys who have agreed to serve as arbitrators. After the conclusion of the hearing, the panel has 30 days to make a decision recorded as a REPORT &amp; AWARD. The parties may accept or appeal the arbitration decision.
